May 2015 – November 2017: Gifted at Play, LLC. - Digital Strategist & Analytics - Graphic design and business lab with emphasis on learning, research and hands-on experimentation to discover and demonstrate the promise of the IoT in graphic, screen, interactivity, equipment, interface, engineering and programming. The lab serves as a multidisciplinary learning and research hub as well as a thought-leadership and innovation showcase to explore, experience, and extend cutting-edge technologies. November 2004 – December 2006: Times-Herald Record - Publication Manager - Manage, design, illustrate and manage the production of special publication materials for a weekly newspaper. November 1999 – August 2002: Black Enterprise Magazine - Design Manager - Manage photo library and all graphical assets. Create web page recommendations for the organization’s website. Oversee branding guidelines, design standards, and creative templates Creative lead on all design initiatives, from concept development to layout creation to finished product. Design a range of creative materials, such as direct mail, email campaigns, banner ads, web graphics, infographics, catalogs, brochures, flyers, invitations, posters, exhibition stands, forms, and more. Manage relationships with external printers where necessary, coordinating all aspects of print production. Translating design thinking into guidelines and style guides. September 1992 - May 1994: (SUNY) University at Buffalo - Graduate Teaching Assistant - Graphic Production Lab - The course introduces students to a structural approach and systemic principles in the construction and application of graphic form. Students learn to create graphic systems by exploring among other things, graphic identity systems, icon/symbolic -systems, and graphic navigation systems. Issues around graphic standards and representation, and how these shape graphic form-making, are discussed in conjunction with studio work. There may be a class fee assessed to your student account.
